QFD PARTNERS CRANE HIRE ON MAJOR PROJECT
01 May 2014
Teichmann, a major German crane trader and market leader for power plant cranes across Europe called upon project specialists Quality Freight Dublin in partnership with CraneHire Ltd to remove a large Gantry Crane that was mothballed at the Irish Rail site on North Wall, Dublin.
QFG’s experience was called upon, co-ordinating the specialist haulage required to uplift and transport the Gantry Crane from where it lay to a reserved quay at Dublin Port allowing for the dedicated cranage needed to load the giant pieces to the vessel safely, heaviest weighing in at 184tons. Headquartered in the Dublin Port Authority Building, our close proximity enabled QFG to work closely with Dublin Port’s chief engineer regarding route planning to the agreed and suitable loading Berth inside the Port. QFG provided a full project service inclusive of the stevedoring, specialised lashing and securing crews for this large Gantry Crane. The used
crane had a value of €1.6 million and was shipped to Rotterdam for refurbishment.
